Parkinsons Support Group Meeting

Parkinsons Network of Mt. Diablo 

The Parkinson Network of Mt. Diablo Support Group will meet on Saturday, April 16 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2100 Tice Valley Blvd., Walnut Creek.  All are welcome and there is no charge. No RSVP’s needed.  Here is the agenda:
9:00 to 9:50 a.m.Two concurrent meetings:

  1. Extended Parkinsonians Only Discussion Group (Men & Women meet separately):  Those newly diagnosed or who’ve had PD for years will share, laugh, and learn from each other. Meeting location is the Fireside Room at Grace Church.
  2. Caregivers Only Discussion Group:  Caregivers discuss issues relating to their roles. Meeting location is the Library of Grace Church.

10:00 to 10:45 a.m. – Break in the Oak Rm for General Information and Q & A.  Carol Fisher will introduce new yoga teacher/boot camp teacher Murthy Jurugumilli and have him briefly lead an exercise.  The PNMD Library with books, flyers, videos, etc. is opened at this time. Medtronic will provide refreshments.

10:45 to noon – Panel Discussion on Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Surgery.  PDers who have had DBS will describe their experiences and answer questions.  A short video will be shown. Moderator: Art Fowler.
